Please be informed, that as of today, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine has received 159 applications from candidates, expressing the intention to apply for the position of a judge in a court included in the first group of courts at the first stage of the competition for vacant positions of judges in general courts of appeal, announced by the Commission’s decision of September 14, 2023 No. 94/zp-23 (as amended):

The list of candidates who have applied to participate in the first stage of the competition can be found at this link (in Ukrainian).
In accordance with paragraph 3 of part four of Article 793 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”, a special background check has been initiated for these candidates for the position of judge, pursuant to Article 75 of the same Law.
The Commission plans to conduct interviews, based on the results of review of the dossiers of candidates for the positions of judges in the first group of courts approximately on July 10, 2025.
Candidates who submitted applications expressing their intention to apply for the position of a judge in the first group of courts, but are not listed on the Commission’s website are requested to contact the Commission at (044) 233-63-86.
At the same time, please be informed, that, based on the analysis of statistical data regarding judicial workload and the number of vacant judicial positions in general appellate courts for the first half of 2025, the Commission plans to adopt a decision in July 2025 to determine the second group of courts for the first stage of the competition and the term for application submission to such courts.
